Working Hard to Feed Blue Earth County and North Mankato
Are you in the midst of harvesting and weeding your vegetable gardens? If you are producing more than you can eat, please feel free to share some of your harvest with the Colchester Food Shelf. We would love to have fresh produce to distribute to those we serve in the community. When possible, produce should be dropped off on Tuesday mornings, so that it can be distributed during our open hours Tuesday through Thursday. The totals are in for the first and second quarters of ! The food shelf served 1, individuals and processed 15, pounds of food in the first and second quarters combined. ECHO began in in a church basement and was intended for short term food assistance to people in the Mankato area. ECHO has relocated several times to larger facilities to accommodate the growing need for food assistance. Monthly, ECHO distributes , pounds of food to approximately 1, households.
The Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf works to alleviate hunger by feeding people and cultivating opportunities. As the largest direct service emergency food provider in Vermont, CEFS serves over 12, people each year.
